The Beauty of Every Season: Finding Purpose in life’s Seasons

Late summer landscape symbolizing the changing seasons of life

Hi, Lilies! 🌸

Summer is slowly making its way toward the finish line.

The days will soon begin to shorten, the evenings will gradually change, and before we know it, another season will be upon us.

But as I think about the changing seasons around us, I’m reminded that life has seasons too.

We all experience springs, summers, autumns, and winters—not only in nature, but in our hearts and in our lives.

There are spring seasons, when everything feels fresh and full of possibility. New dreams are planted, new opportunities appear, and hope seems to bloom effortlessly.

Then there are summer seasons—times when we begin to see the results of what we’ve planted and nurtured. We celebrate milestones, enjoy answered prayers, and pause to appreciate the beauty around us.

When we’re in a good season, we sometimes wish it could last forever.

But seasons change.

Autumn teaches us about letting go.

Sometimes we’re asked to release a habit we’ve outgrown, a dream that has changed shape, or even something we once thought we’d carry forever.

Letting go isn’t always easy. But just as trees release their leaves, there are things in our lives that we sometimes have to release to make room for what comes next.

And then there is winter.

Few of us welcome winter seasons in life.

These are the times when answers seem slow, prayers feel unanswered, and everything around us appears still.

Yet winter has a purpose too.

Beneath the surface, roots continue to grow.

What looks dormant may actually be preparing for new life.

Perhaps our lives are much the same.

There may be things happening beneath the surface that we cannot see yet.

So if you’re enjoying a beautiful summer season right now, don’t rush through it.

Pause.

Give thanks.

Enjoy what God has allowed you to experience.

If you’re in an autumn season, where something is being released or changing, trust that letting go doesn’t mean your story is ending.

And if you’re walking through a winter season, don’t lose heart.

Just because you can’t see growth doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

The season you’re in today isn’t necessarily the season you’ll remain in forever.

Seasons change.

And when spring comes again—and it will—you may discover that God was strengthening your roots all along.

So perhaps instead of wishing you were somewhere else in your journey, pause and ask yourself:

What is this season teaching me?

Maybe it’s teaching you patience.

Maybe it’s teaching you gratitude.

Maybe it’s teaching you how to let go.

Maybe it’s teaching you to rest.

Or perhaps it’s teaching you to trust God when you cannot yet see what He’s doing.

Whatever this season holds, you don’t have to rush through it.

There is something to be learned here.

There is something to be received here.

And there may even be beauty here that you haven’t noticed yet.

Every season has its purpose.

Every season has its beauty.

And every season is held in the faithful hands of God.

So wherever you find yourself today, give yourself permission to be there.

You don’t have to force yourself into someone else’s season.

You don’t have to bloom on someone else’s timetable.

You can grow gently, right where you are.

Until next time, Lilies, keep blooming gently—and in your own time.

Growing Gracefully,

Sharon 🌸💚
